Update on Olivia Mew - CAN 24

TWC member, Olivia Mew, recently made the ambitious decision to campaign full time for the 2016 Olympic Games, as a pathway to competing at the 2020 Games. Recently, she made her way to Sopot, Poland; the home club of TWC member Bartek Lapinski. There Olivia spent 5 weeks being coached by 3 world class coaches, as well as trained and competed with very accomplished female racers from all over the world. Many thanks to Bartek for his involvement in making this trip possible.

Olivia is now preparing to travel on October 8th to the 2015 RS:X World Championships in Al Mussanah, Oman. This is a very exciting and important championship for Olivia. She is the only female Canadian competing, and is the first ever Ontario Female RS:X Sailor to attend a World Championship. More importantly, this event is Canada’s Olympic qualifier for the 2016 Olympic Games. Join us in wishing Olivia success while representing Canada and the Toronto Windsurfing Club.
