Youth Summer Camp

Check out our amazing camp for kids. A diverse and inclusive camp, activities include Windsurfing, Stand up Paddling (SUP), Beach Volleyball and other games on the beach right next to the water.

  • Weekly sessions in July and August for kids ages 10 to 17;

Who can register?

  • You must be between 10 and 17 years old;
  • You must be able to swim 25m independently and confidently;
  • No previous windsurfing experience necessary.

What's the schedule?

  • 1 week sessions offered in July and August;
  • Monday to Friday from 9:00am to 4:00pm (Tuesday - Friday during short weeks);
  • Regular drop off is at 8:30am and pick up at 4:30pm;
  • Extended care is available (for an additional cost). This allows for drop off as early as 8:00am and pick up as late as 5:30pm.

What activities do you do at the camp?

Activities include windsurfing instruction, stand up paddling (SUP), beach volleyball, ultimate frisbee, games and windsurf cruises to Toronto Island.

Instruction is based on CANSail Windsurf, the national training standards for windsurfing from Sail Canada. Campers are divided into 3 groups (beginner to advanced) for instrucion geared to their skill level.

More experienced sailors can also participate in spring and fall training on weekends and even join club trips.

Who are the instructors?

  • Our Head Coach won Ontario Sailing’s 2018 award for exceptional leadership;
  • All of our instructors are passionate, skilled and highly qualified;
  • Average instructor to camper ratio of less than 1:5 means excellent supervision, high quality instruction and lots of fun for our participants.

Tell me about safety at the camp?

All staff are first aid and CPR certified and receive extensive preseason training that includes effective communication skills, dealing with emergencies, and teaching and supervising young people.

Our instructors complete the Sail Canada certified training and qualifications so they are proficient at teaching and supervision of on water activities;

The club owns 4 power boats, operated by experienced drivers, that are employed throughout the on water training and used to assist campers in need of help;

We have policies and procedures in place to deal with a range of different safety related situations. Our safety record is excellent!

How much does it cost?

  • $325 per week (HST exempt);
  • Early drop-off is $25 per week;
  • Late pick-up is $50 per week;
  • Discounts (applied automatically):
      • Before April 1: 10% off all orders;
      • From April 1: 5% off orders over $650 and 10% off orders over $1,300.

⇒ Age 7-9? Windsurfing starts at age 10 but you can learn to sail at the OHSF Water Sport Camp. Sailing is similar to windsurfing and a great stepping stone to our learn to windsurf program.
