Wednesday Night Racing
We race every Wednesday evening May-September. The atmosphere is fun and friendly; beginners are welcome and you're guaranteed to get free advice from experienced sailors out on the water.
The first flag of the start sequence goes up at 6:00pm. Most racers arrive at the clubhouse around 5:00pm to give themselves time to rig up. Ideally you should be at the starting line by 5:45pm to give yourself time to evaluate the course. Usually there are three to four races taking 20-30min each. Turnouts range from 15-30 racers depending on the time of year and wind conditions.
A beach BBQ usually concludes every evening.
Beginners may participate as a Buddy Racing team with an experienced racer who will help them learn the ropes, contact Keli Schmidt for more info. (Beginners may race on TWC equipment by using a Stay Hooked credit.)
Saturday Regattas are fun races where beginners can learn to race in a relaxed, no-pressure environment with lots of help from the experts for the low low price of nothing at all! Racing starts at 1:00pm with a pre-race talk for beginners at noon.
Beginners may race on TWC equipment by using a Stay Hooked credit.
For more info or to RSVP for the onshore talk before racing contact Keli Schmidt.
