Windsurf Midwinters is a multi-class windsurf regatta held by the Clearwater Community Sailing Center the second weekend of March every year. Racing is held on Clearwater Harbor or the Gulf of Mexico.

1. RULES
1.1 The event shall be governed by the rules defined in the Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS)
1.2 No national authority prescriptions will apply.
1.3 The class rules of the participating classes will apply as amended by the sailing instructions.
1.4 If there is a conflict between this Notice of Race and the Sailing Instructions, the Sailing instructions will take precedence.
1.5 Competitors will follow CCSC Covid-19 guidelines.
2. ELIGIBILITY and ENTRY
2.1 A Minimum of 5 competitors is required to constitute a division. Those entries accepted that do not constitute a divisionmay sail another division as defined by the race committee.
2.2 Classes eligible for entry include: Open Windfoil, IQ foil, Techno 293, Kona, Windsurfer LT, Open Longboard
3. Divisions
3.1 The participating classes and divisions will be: Formula Windfoil, Youth Windfoil, IQ Foil, Techno 293 U17, Techno 293 U15, Techno Green fleet, Kona, Windsurfer LT, Open Longboard
3.2 Green fleet, sailors with less than a year of racing experience and sails 5.8 or smaller
4. FEES
4.1 The entry fee for adult competitors is $90 if received by February 26th. A late fee $10 USD will be added for entries after Feb 26th.
4.2 The entry fee for youth (under 21) competitors will be $75 USD if received by February 28th and a late fee of $10 USD will be added for entries received after February 28th.
4.3 Late registration will be available onsite March 12 from 1600 to 1900.
4.4 Fee includes racing, trophies, and a t-shirt.
5. SCHEDULE
Thursday March 11, 1300-1900 Check in, 1900 Skippers Meeting
Friday March 12, 1000 First warning signal
Saturday March 13, 1000 First warning signal
Sunday March 14, 1000 First Warning Signal, 1400 Last possible warning signal, Awards following racing
6. CHARTER BOARDS/RIGS
6.1. Limited Kona Class Charters and Windsurfer LT will be supplied by Progressive Sports contact Sherry at Sherry@progressivesports.com or 386-760-9926 to reserve a charter.
7. MEASUREMENT
7.1 It is the responsibility of each competitor that his/her board and equipment conforms to the class rules.
8. VENUE
8.1 The regatta will be held at the Clearwater Community Sailing Center, Clearwater FL 33767.
8.2 Racing will take place on the waters of Clearwater Harbor east of the sailing center and/or in the Gulf of Mexico South West of Clearwater pass.
8.3 All boards shall launch from CCSC for racing on both circles.
8.4 Each class may decide if they would like in the gulf or bay racing circles. Each class shall designate a class representative that will communicate the classes intention with race committee.
9. SCORING
9.1 One race is required to be completed to constitute a regatta.
9.2(a) When fewer than 5 races have been completed, a board’s series score will be the total of her race scores.(b) When 5 to 11 races have been completed, a board’s series score will be the total of her race scores excluding her worst score.
10. Awards
10.1 Awards will be given to 1-3 for each division with over 10 participants pre-registered by 2-26-21.
10.2 In divisions with less than ten participants pre-registered by 2-26-21 only first place will be awarded.
11. DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY
Competitors participate in the regatta entirely at their own risk. See rule 4, Decision to Race. The organizing authority will not accept any liability for material damage or personal injury or death sustained in conjunction with or prior to, during or after the regatta.
12. Safety
12.1 Personal buoyancy is mandatory for competitors 18 and under
12.2 All windfoil competitors shall wear an impact vest and helmet.
