Course Routes

There are 3 races courses to choose from on each day:

  • Long Course - 14.4 km around Toronto Island
  • Medium Course - 5-7 km course
  • Short Course - for beginners, SUP kids (12 and under), and LTW participants in the Stay Hooked windsurf program.

The route for the 14.4 km course around Toronto Island can be viewed by clicking here.  Racers must keep away from the buoys near the island airport, you may be prosecuted and subject to a hefty fine if you enter the "Keep Out Zone" marked by these buoys.  The direction of the course will be determined by the wind direction on race day.

The route for all other races will be determined on the morning of the races depending on wind and weather conditions.

Participants can change courses on the day of the event to ensure everyone's comfort and safety.

Safety - Mandatory requirements

To ensure your safety boats will be on course throughout each race, don't forget to smile for the photographers!

The following items are required by law, if you don't have them you will not be permitted to race:

  • PFDs and a whistle for all participants.

  • Leashes  for SUP, surf ski and wing foils.
