A not-for-profit association with over 550 members, the Toronto Windsurfing Club (“TWC”) is managed by volunteers and dedicated to safe, friendly and enjoyable windsurfing and stand up paddling for all. Members are required to review and confirm acceptance of these policies when submitting their member registration.

Members are encouraged to tell their guests about the club’s programs, activities and membership opportunities. Equipment Storage Policy and Conditions Storage rental is for Toronto Windsurfing Club members only. The rental term is from May 1st of the current year through to the last week of April of the following year. Security is everyone's responsibility. It is the responsibility of every member to ensure the security and well-being of the club.
Maintaining the condition of the storage containers
Expired storage and unclaimed equipment It is the Member’s responsibility to ensure that their membership and storage dues are paid in full by May 1st for the current season.

Power Boat Use Policy This Power Boat Usage Policy (the “Policy”) provides guidelines and direction to TWC members and instructors on power boat use. Members are expected to report any behaviour that does not adhere to this Policy to the TWC Board of Directors. Disregarding this Policy may result in suspension or termination of your TWC membership. Only TWC members in good standing or current TWC instructors may use the TWC power boats, unless prior approval is given by the Board of Directors. Purpose of use:

I/we understand and hereby agree that windsurfing and stand up paddling include activities on land and on water (all of which are the “club activities”) and other activities related to these club activities such as swimming and operating a powerboat which involve certain risks and dangers incidental thereto. In spite of these risks, I/we fully understand such risks, and I/we wish to participate in the club activities at TWC and hereby assume all the risks of doing so that are not covered by a policy of insurance held by the TWC or under which the Club may be covered such as the Outer Harbour Sailing Federation and other policies that may be in effect from time to time. In consideration of TWC agreeing to allow us to participate in the club activities accompanied or unaccompanied (meaning with or without a safety/coach boat), using TWC’s public equipment and permitting use of club facilities, and for other good and valuable consideration, the receipt and sufficiency of which is acknowledged, I/we hereby agree not to hold TWC, and its directors, officers, employees, agents, coaches, volunteers, members, and representatives, all of whom are herein after referred to as the “Releasees”, liable for any losses or damages that are not covered by a policy of insurance held by the TWC or under which the Club may be covered such as the Outer Harbour Sailing Federation and other policies that may be in effect from time to time, and; TO WAIVE ANY AND ALL SUCH CLAIMS THAT I/WE HAVE OR MAY HAVE IN THE FUTURE AGAINST THE RELEASEES AND TO RELEASE THE RELEASEES from any and all liability for any loss, damage expense or injury including death that I/we may suffer or that my kin may suffer as a result of my participation in the club activities, on land or on water, due to any cause whatsoever, ON THE PART OF THE RELEASES AND FURTHER, INCLUDING FAILURE ON THE PART OF THE RELEASEES TO SAFEGUARD AND PROTECT ME FROM THE RISKS, DANGERS AND HAZARDS OF THE CLUB ACTIVITIES . I/we agree to hold harmless and to indemnify the Releasees from any and all liability for any property damage or personal injury to any third party resulting from our participation in the club activities, that are not covered by a policy of insurance held by the TWC or under which the Club may be covered such as the Outer Harbour Sailing Federation and other policies that may be in effect from time to time. I/we agree that this agreement shall be binding upon my/our heirs, next of kin, executors, administrators and assigns in the event of my death. In entering into this agreement, I am / we are not relying on an oral or written representation or statements made by the Releasees with respect to the safety of the club activities other than as set forth in this agreement. I/we have read and understood this agreement and I am / we are aware that by agreeing to it, online or in hard copy, I am / we are waiving certain legal rights which I/we or my/our heirs, next of kin, executors, administrators, and assigns may have against the Releasees. |
Banking Policy The Toronto Windsurfing Club (TWC) banking policy will ensure that payments to vendors and expense reimbursement to board members and volunteers is done efficiently.
Banking Policy – Version 1 Approved July 11, 2022 Mammoth Marathon Waiver Mammoth Marathon Waiver 2024 September 21st and 22nd, 2024 In entering The Mammoth Marathon organized by the Toronto Windsurfing Club (TWC) I agree to assume all responsibility for my own actions in the course of this competition. The competitor acknowledges and agrees that in entering this competition he or she is not relying and will not rely on the advice of TWC or any of its directors, officers, agents or guests. The competitor is aware of and agrees to abide by all applicable laws and rules and safety regulations of the water-ways and otherwise including, without limitation, carrying a personal flotation device on board and observing right-of-way rules. The competitor agrees to assume all risk and liability of all kinds arising from the use of the premises and facilities of TWC by guests of the competitor or family members entered in the Competition. The competitor acknowledges and agrees that the TWC is not responsible for loss or damage of any nature or kind to personal equipment or belongings, by theft, fire or other means. The competitor and their heirs, executors and administrators do hereby remise and forever discharge and hold harmless and indemnify TWC, its directors, agents and guests from and against any and all claims, actions, complaints, demands for loss, damage, injury or death to her or her person howsoever caused, whether by negligence on the part of TWC or otherwise arising from his or her participation in the competition. The competitor hereby acknowledges that he or she has read and understood, and agrees to comply with the foregoing conditions of entering this competition. The competitor also hereby grants TWC/Windsurfing Canada permission to interview them or their children and/or to use their or their child’s likeness in photograph(s) /video in any and all of its publications and in any and all other media, whether now known or hereafter existing, controlled by TWC/Windsurfing Canada, in perpetuity, and for other use by TWC/Windsurfing Canada. The competitor will make no monetary or other claim against TWC/Windsurfing Canada for the use of the interview and/or the photograph(s)/video. The competitor acknowledges that he or she is 18 years of age or older and providing consent for and on behalf of himself or herself. If the competitor is under 18 years of age, the parent or guardian of the competitor identified as the purchaser of the ticket will provide consent for the competitor. Clicking the check box on the registration page provides consent for this waiver. |
